Due to rapid growth, cities are becoming more densely populated and housing rates are rising. Some are forced to live in slums, which often lack access to water, proper sanitation and hospitals. By using topological approaches to map out access to vital roads, urban planners can hopefully eliminate slums and prevent new ones.
